Polystyrene:

Polystyrene is an aromatic synthetic polymer. which is made of styrene monomer. Polystyrene is a petrochemical material that is solid at room temperature and has a flexible structure, while at higher temperatures it melts and can be molded.

One of the ways to recognize polystyrene:

• It burns in the flame and continues to burn after removing the flame.
• It has a yellow flame.
• It has black smoke with carbon particles.
• Drips in the flame.
• Its burning smell is similar to the smell of natural gas.

Application of polystyrene:

• One of the common uses of styrene is in the roof of the building.
• Polystyrene insulation is moisture resistant
• However, extruded polystyrene foam is used for waterproof systems and roofs of buildings.

Advantages of polystyrene:

1. Products are recyclable.
2. There is no possibility of mold and fungus growing in them.
3. Being stable
