Rebars produced in Iran are produced according to the national Iranian standard (ISIRI) and supplied to the domestic and foreign markets. These standards determine the technical specifications of the reinforcement in terms of diameter, length, tensile strength and other characteristics of the rebar. Based on the ISIRI standard, rebars produced in Iran are divided into four main categories and are named as follows:

Plain or soft rebar A1 (S 240)
Spiral ribbed rebar A2 (S 340)
Plate ribbed rebar A3 (S 400)
Compound ribbed rebar A4 (S 500)
Ribbed rebars B500

Plain rebar, which has no ribs and is completely smooth and can withstand a tensile strength of 240 Newtons per square millimeter. This type of rebar is most often used for cases that do not require high adhesion of the rebar to concrete. This type of rebar is also known by the trade name S240, which indicates its tensile strength.

Spiral ribbed rebar has spiral-shaped grooves and treads on its surface. The tensile strength of this type of rebar is 340 Newtons per square millimeter. This type of spiral ribbed rebar is one of the most widely used types of reinforcement in construction. And the name of this rebar is also known by the trade name S340.

A400 ribbed rebar has serrated grooves on the surface of the rebar. The tensile strength of this type of rebar is 400 Newtons per square millimeter. A400 ribbed rebar has a higher tensile strength than S340 ribbed rebar and is used for cases where we need higher tensile strength. The trade name of this product is S400.

Compound ribbed rebar has a combination of spiral and serrated treads on the surface. The tensile strength of this type of rebar is 500 N/mm2. Composite ribbed rebar has a very high tensile strength. The trade name for composite ribbed rebar is S500.
